The Group provides a key role in contributing to the State Government's vision to build an inclusive and cohesive society which draws on its cultural and linguistic diversity to enhance the social, economic and cultural development of the State.

Established in January 2009, the Group provides advice to the Minister for Citizenship and Multicultural Interests on a range of strategies.

Membership of the Advisory Group will be broad based and drawn from multicultural organisations, community groups, business, industry and the private sector, Local Government, service providers, the education sector, and consular corps. At least two representatives will be appointed from individuals located in regional Western Australia.
